I had a wonderful day with working on this maternity style shoot.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day and I was able to spend it with such wonderful people. I was very excited when my friend (and our model) Phylicia Snow responded to my request for a model, and I immediately started dreaming of a Mother's Day tribute blog posting.
This holiday has become more dear to my heart as I have gotten older. I have been witness to sisters and friends becoming mothers and I have also been increasingly in awe of my own mommy! I am in wonder and amazement as to how she raised *five* children.
So, these beautiful pictures are in honor of our mothers. This women sacrifices her independence and freedoms to give us a life filled with knowledge and spender. She teaches and guides us throughout our youth, fully knowing we will leave her.
We will become our own independent beings, and for a little while take her for granted, because we don't understand her. We don't understand why she still calls after we've moved out. Or way she wants a visit from us when when we just saw her a few days ago.
Thank you mom! Thank you for being patient with us. We are doing our best to grow up. When we finally do grow up I promise we will appreciate you the way you deserve. We will love on you every moment we can spare, because we have realized all that you have given to us.
